They have a commitment to hand picking whole bunches of grapes and gently pressing before fermentation with indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged in stainless steel to help it retain freshness and purity of flavor. They go a step further by not fining (part of the final stages of making wine) the wine! Their commitment to making wine this way is laudable, and for the price point will give you a great view into New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc flavors. This vintage is particularly bright and fresh and is driven by citrus and melon notes.

The citrus core of flavors is juicy and intense. Deliciously refreshing saline acidity and mellow rounded texture on the finish.

Dog Point Vineyard is the passion project of two former co-workers from Cloudy Bay. Since their first vintage in 2002, they have continued their focus on biodiversity with large swaths of their property devoted to pastures, gardens, and orchards that encourage local flora and fauna.
