Our Diversi dal Solito Catarratto invites you to step out of your comfort zone and sample something new. This crisp white wine is well known amongst the locals and commonly found on the dinner table alongside the island’s specialty—freshly caught seafood. Italy's Terre Siciliane covers wines made across the island of Sicily—including its satellite islands of Salina, Pantelleria and Stromboli. The wines can be still or sparkling, red, white or rosé, dry or sweet, and made from such grape varieties as Sangiovese, Catarratto and Vermentino. Whatever the style, Terre Siciliane wines benefit from the natural features of this southern Italian region. Sicily's abundant sunshine, mineral-rich soils, coastal breezes and drying African winds help it produce exceptional grapes that transfer into wines of character and expression. The IGT (Indicazione Geografica Tipica) classification system was created to provide more freedom and ease for winemaking within Italy. Wines under the IGT classification are regulated on the region of origin—where within the country grapes are grown—instead of varietals or wine styles as DOC and DOCG laws focus on.
