Deceniza
Loncomilla Valley DO, Chile
A soft and fruity 92 point Pinot from volcanic soils
ABOUT THIS WINE:
Deceniza
Pinot Noir
Our Deceniza, meaning—"from ash"—Pinot Noir comes from the volcanic soils of Chile's Loncomilla Valley. It is light-bodied and fruit-forward with layers of rustic, earthy notes. This Pinot Noir is extra special because it comes from a small winegrowing region and offers an approachable yet complex flavor profile to elevate any occasion. Loncomilla Valley is a sub-region within Chile's famous Maule Valley. Its warm, Mediterranean climate makes for long summers, while its proximity to the coastline keeps grapes cool. The soils here come from ancient waterways and volcanic origin. Clay and sand hold onto water and keep vines hydrated during the warm growing season. Layers of stone beneath the surface provide just enough draining to keep grapes from over-hydrating, which could dilute flavors. This balance creates wines with sophisticated aromas, ripe fruit flavors and smooth textures. ...
