ABOUT THIS WINE:

Comarca

Comarca

Verdejo

Spain’s deep valleys and picturesque rolling hills are idyllic for grape growing. With dry, hot temperatures during the growing season and maritime influences coming off the nearby seas and oceans, fruit that requires little attention and basks in the sunshine thrives in the environment. The 2019 growing season saw high-quality fruit and rains just before harvest that helped finish up ripening just before pick. Our winemaking partners have over 50 years of experience in Spanish wines and are experts in the Manchuela region, where our Platinum Medal Verdejo is sourced from. They created a beautifully fresh and vibrant wine full of green fruit notes and citrus flavors that are complemented by bold white floral aromas. Mouthwatering acidity will make you reach for glass after glass, guaranteed! Scroll through the image carousel above to learn more about this wine.

Outline of Spain

Spain

While its reputation as a serious wine destination was eclipsed by France and Italy for many years, ignoring Spain today means missing out on some of the world's most exciting wines. Enjoying hundreds of miles of sun-kissed coastline and rocky interiors at higher elevations, Spain provides an ideal location for vineyards. Whether it is sparkling cavas from Catalonia, crisp Verdejos from Rueda, sublime Tempranillos from Ribera del Duero or inky Monastrells from Valencia, Spain has many wine styles to explore, all expressing the country's wildly unique terroir.

TASTING NOTES:

Lime

Melon

Pear

Bright, vibrant citrus notes of lime meld with ripe pear, honeydew melon, and white peach flavors. Bold aromatics of jasmine swirl out of the glass, and a mouthwateringly bright acidity makes every sip linger. Perfect on its own or with your favorite salty foods. "Verdejo can deliver you to a summery Spanish afternoon with its sunny disposition of lively citrus with subtle stone fruit layers, and this example succeeds in doing so with elegance. Nice price to boot!" – Rich Cook, 2021 Monterey International Wine Competition.
