Color Wash

Sauvignon Blanc

The Color Wash 2016 Sauvignon Blanc has nothing to hide behind. Fresh and vibrant, clean and crisp this wine lays everything out in the open. Citrus, stone fruit and tropical flavors come together in this zippy young wine. See if you can taste the subtle notes of lemongrass and white pepper hiding just under the surface. The wine gets most of its character from the growing conditions in West Lodi, California where the cool nights make for fewer grapes but a higher concentration of flavor. Despite the intensity of flavor, the Color Wash is still balanced, with a lingering acidity that allows it to pair with any rich foods. Judges love it too, it has taken home multiple medals including 90 points and a gold from the 2018 San Diego International Wine & Spirits Challenge!

WINE REGION:

Outline of Lodi

Lodi

The jewel of the Central Valley, Lodi lies just east of the California Delta in an area of varied terroir. Winemakers here can extract different grape variety expressions from each plot of land. Zinfandel is common here, making deeply fruity and tantalizingly smoky wines, often from old vines. But the deep loamy soils and balmy Mediterranean climate, with its warm days and cool nights, help keep Lodi's grape varieties and winemaking styles impressively diverse. Alongside the ubiquitous Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot and Viognier also thrive. Lodi is a melting pot of different grape varieties and winemaking techniques, all of which make it a rewarding region to explore.

ABOUT THE BRAND:

large bunches of red grapes on the vine

Color Wash

While some may liken a winemaker to a chef, Color Wash prefers the relation to an artist. One who has mastered the subtlety of each brushstroke and delicate layer of color to create a finished piece that balances artistic control and the free will of their medium. No two works of art are the same, as is true for wine, where each glass is remarkable in its own right.
