Bordeaux Rosé

Light, yet serious, our Bordeaux Rosé comes to us from the same skillful winemakers who crafted our 94 point, Platinum Medal-winning Bordeaux Rouge. Ch. Philippe Jacques & Co. has captured the delicate craft of winemaking while working within one of the most famous wine regions in the world. This rosé is made in the classic dry French style with a nod to its region's terroir. Bordeaux sits on the western border of France, where warming effects from the Atlantic Ocean allow the growing season to extend well into October. This extended ripening window is essential for the region's famous, thick-skinned black grapes to develop their distinctive rich red and black fruit flavors. These flavors, partnered with refreshing acidity, are a welcome duo in a quality rosé wine such as this. With notes of citrus and fresh fruit, this wine makes excellence seem effortless. WINE REGION:

Outline of Bordeaux AOP

Bordeaux AOP

Probably the world's most famous wine region, Bordeaux is a true powerhouse of French quality. While Bordeaux is home to some of the country's most expensive bottles, it is also possible to find great-value wines from small producers. Almost all red and white wines from Bordeaux are blends. Reds tend to be a mix of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. But just as important as the blends are the quality of the region's terroir and unique winemaking techniques. The Bordeaux region is divided by the Gironde River into two main parts. Cabernet Sauvignon reigns supreme on the the Left Bank, while Merlot dominates the Right Bank. White wines are usually a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. The AOP (Appellation d'Origine Protégée) classification for French wine relates to wine being from a specific region that is significantly regulated. The regions are both large and small, each with its own set of rules for permitted varietals, production standards and quality control cues.

TASTING NOTES:

Strawberry

Lemon

Raspberry

Our rosé is an elegant balance between fruity and dry. Lively acidity supports fresh fruit flavors of raspberry, lemon, and strawberry. A sense of seriousness is brought to the palate by notes of wet stone and mineral layers. While this wine offers a quality example of experienced French winemaking, it pairs best with sunshine and laughter.
