About This Wine

Cassiday Blare

Petite Sirah – Zinfandel

A red as daring as the bootlegger himself, this wine evokes a feeling of rebellion. Two powerful and respected grape varieties team up to create a combination that the legendary George Cassiday would surely tip his hat to. This blend is comprised of Petite Sirah (85%), which is a fairly uncommon variety and packs a radical punch of spice, accompanied by opulent tannins. Its more well-known companion, Zinfandel (15%), contributes intense fruit, a full body, and sweetness. Together you have yourself an audacious blend with a sense of mystery and adventure. This is a wine even the most authoritative of Prohibition-era lawmakers would gladly welcome into their home. Our wine offers both the novice wine drinker and connoisseur an opportunity to lead a revolt against the ordinary, challenge the status quo, and try sipping something that bends the laws of flavor — best paired with the cover of nightfall, hushed voices, and a green fedora. Wine Region

California

California is one of the most diverse winegrowing regions in the world. Spanning 850 miles along North America's west coast—and inland across mountains and valleys—California's American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) cover a dizzying array of terroir. The cold, deep waters of the Pacific Ocean play a major role in cooling California's vineyards, sending fog and chilly air up to 100 miles inland. This tempers the daytime heat and allows grapes to ripen slowly but fully. Cooler-climate grape varieties thrive closest to the sea, while further inland, bigger, bolder wines prevail.
