ABOUT THIS WINE:

Cassiday Blare

Cassiday Blare

Red

The latest wine from Cassiday Blare is a new favorite of our wine experts. Extremely delicate and fresh, the red fruit flavors drive the entire tasting experience but are bolstered by nuanced secondary notes. With a pale color and medium body, this wine is fantastic when paired with restrained dishes. The soft tannins don’t necessitate big, bold flavor, and shine with fragrant dishes like rosemary chicken or herbed lamb. It is the secondary flavors of herbs, tobacco, and leather that give this wonderful wine its complexity. We can’t wait for you to join our experts in loving the newest red from Cassiday Blare. And, it took home Silver at the International Women's Wine Competition, the 2018 Sommelier Challenge, and the Denver International Wine Competition!

WINE REGION:

Outline of California

California

California is one of the most diverse winegrowing regions in the world. Spanning 850 miles along North America's west coast—and inland across mountains and valleys—California's American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) cover a dizzying array of terroir. The cold, deep waters of the Pacific Ocean play a major role in cooling California's vineyards, sending fog and chilly air up to 100 miles inland. This tempers the daytime heat and allows grapes to ripen slowly but fully. Cooler-climate grape varieties thrive closest to the sea, while further inland, bigger, bolder wines prevail.

TASTING NOTES:

Cherry

Forest Floor

Tobacco

This wine has tastes of red cherry fruit with herbal layers, developing into tobacco and leather notes. It is lively with a medium body and soft round tannins. An easy to drink wine - mix of red fruit and herbs support rosemary chicken dishes, herbed lamb, roast beef with basil and oregano. Enough tannin to stand up to vegetarian chili or lasagna.

ABOUT THE BRAND:

large bunches of red grapes on the vine

Cassiday Blare

The Prohibition Era was an interesting time made all the more captivating by men like George Cassiday. Supplying most of the occupants of Capitol Hill with their “liquid pleasures,” Cassiday cast a wide light on the archaic law by writing a series of articles published by the Washington Post in 1930 about his illegal ventures. Not long after, the law was overturned, and for all of us at Cassiday Blare, we tip our hat to you, sir!
