ABOUT THIS WINE:

Cantele

Cantele

Chardonnay

Made in a fruit-focused and crisp style, these Chardonnay grapes enjoyed great exposure to the warm Italian sun while benefiting from cooling influences from the three surrounding bodies of water. This allowed the development of ripe and pure varietal characteristics balanced by refreshing acidity. Fermentation takes place at cool temperatures in stainless steel vats to allow for bright varietal flavors to take center stage. Once alcoholic fermentation concludes, the winemakers forego the secondary malolactic fermentation to preserve freshness and avoid any creamy characteristics in the wine. This leaves a refreshing and aromatic Chardonnay full of bright citrus notes and orchard fruit.

Due to state registrations, we cannot ship this wine to AL, AZ, CO, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, MD, ME, MI, MO, NJ, NY, OH, PA, SD, TX, UT, VT, WA.

WINE REGION:

Outline of Salento

Salento

The heel of Italy's boot, Salento is a hot, sun-baked region known for its rustic red wines. Most are made from the holy trinity of local grapes: Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera and Primitivo (usually known as Zinfandel in the New World). Some of these robust blends feature big Italian names like Sangiovese and famous French grapes like Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. While powerful red wines are the main attraction here, white wines from Salento, with their intense, fruity aromas, are also worth seeking.
