ABOUT THIS WINE:

Argyle

Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir can be a difficult grape. That's probably the reason why winemakers and wine nerds everywhere love it so much. Oregon is known for producing what is possibly the finest Pinot in the new world. Argyle was founded on the principle that the Terroir of Oregon could make age-worthy beautifully expressive wines. Their Pinot Noir highlights the elegance and complexity of the Willamette Valley. The winemaking is informed through a conversation between sun and rain, warm days, and cool nights. The Pinot Noir celebrates this dialogue with simplicity, purity of fruit, and silky texture that rewards curiosity and inspires conversations of your own.

WINE REGION:

Outline of Willamette Valley

Willamette Valley

The Willamette Valley is understandably most often associated with Pinot Noir. The cool-climate region has a unique relationship to this most delicate (and temperamental!) red wine grape. Lying on the same latitude as Burgundy in France, the Willamette Valley enjoys the perfect balance of sunshine and rain, proximity to the Pacific Ocean and protection on either side by the Coast Range and the Cascade Mountains. Along its 100 miles, the Willamette Valley boasts many distinct terroirs, so among its many brightly fruity, elegantly structured and blissfully fragrant Pinots, you'll also find exceptional Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Riesling.

ABOUT THE BRAND:

large bunches of red grapes on the vine

Argyle

In 1987, Argyle was founded by pioneering vintner Rollin Soles, with the belief that the cool climate of Oregon’s Willamette Valley was ideal for producing sparkling wines. Now their winemaking program includes sparkling wines, Chardonnays, Pinot Noirs, and Rieslings, which have earned acclaim for their elegance, vineyard-driven character, and uncommon age ability. While Argyle has quietly established a reputation as an Oregon icon, they have remained deeply rooted in the Willamette Valley community and true to the grower-first ideals that inspired their founding. Today, their estate program includes more than 400 acres, with a remarkably diverse tapestry of microclimates, clonal and rootstock selections, elevations, exposures, and soil types.
