Château Palmer

Château Palmer is a Left Bank Bordeaux winery producing Cabernet Sauvignon–Merlot blends from gravelly vineyards spanning about 55 hectares.

Its flagship, the Grand Vin “Château Palmer,” is noted for perfume, supple texture, and the capacity to age. Plantings are roughly 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 47% Merlot, with a small share of Petit Verdot. The unusually high proportion of Merlot for the Médoc shapes the wines with plush fruit and depth. Alongside the Grand Vin, the estate bottles Alter Ego de Palmer, introduced in 1998. Intended for earlier drinking, Alter Ego offers a more immediate expression of the same vineyard character.
