What is Château Léoville Las Cases?

Château Léoville Las Cases is a Left Bank Bordeaux estate known for its gravelly clay vineyards, including the 55-hectare “Grand Clos” next to Château Latour.

The vineyards are planted with about 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, along with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. These grapes create red wines that are structured and mineral-rich. Besides its Grand Vin, the estate also produces Le Petit Lion du Marquis de Las Cases. In 1902, they introduced Clos du Marquis, a separate label sourced from vineyards outside the main “Grand Clos” parcel.
