ABOUT THIS WINE:

Willamette Valley Vineyards

Willamette Valley Vineyards

Whole Cluster Pinot Noir

The stylistic vision of this wine is to capture pure Pinot Noir fruit with beautiful depth and structure through whole cluster fermentation and carbonic maceration. The vineyards for this wine are chosen to complement this unique style of wine. The whole grape clusters are gently conveyed into stainless steel tanks, where a process known as “carbonic maceration” occurs. While the process is technical, it essentially means that the wine will be particularly juicy and fresh. Imagine rich red fruits: strawberries, cherries, and açaí. This wine has that and more mingling in the glass. We love it as an easy-drinking Pinot to pop open when we are feeling festive. It’s a real crowd-pleaser of a wine.

NOTE: This is NOT a Firstleaf Exclusive wine.

Due to state registrations, we cannot ship this wine to AL, AZ, CO, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, MD, ME, MI, MO, N

WINE REGION:

Outline of Willamette Valley

Willamette Valley

The Willamette Valley is understandably most often associated with Pinot Noir. The cool-climate region has a unique relationship to this most delicate (and temperamental!) red wine grape. Lying on the same latitude as Burgundy in France, the Willamette Valley enjoys the perfect balance of sunshine and rain, proximity to the Pacific Ocean and protection on either side by the Coast Range and the Cascade Mountains. Along its 100 miles, the Willamette Valley boasts many distinct terroirs, so among its many brightly fruity, elegantly structured and blissfully fragrant Pinots, you'll also find exceptional Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Riesling.

TASTING NOTES:

Pomegranate

Mocha

Black Cherry

As refreshing as a liquid fruit salad in a glass, this wine is garnet in color and opens with aromas of ripe black cherry, strawberry, blackcurrant, and raspberry. A fruit-forward and juicy entry leads to flavors that mirror aromas with the addition of pomegranate and a subtle hint of mocha that flow into a soft finish accented by balancing acidity.
