ABOUT THIS WINE:

St. Audette Lumière

St. Audette Lumière

Chardonnay

Chardonnay is easily one of the world’s most popular varietals, and this award-winning wine is particularly special. Our winemaking partners are experts in their craft, creating beautiful and admirable wines from one of the most stunning appellations in France. The Pays d’Oc is a region in the Southwest portion of the country just north of Spain’s border and experiences a moderate Mediterranean climate. Hot days and dry winds create an idyllic environment for the varietal. The fruit used for this particular vintage was grown on soils made up of pebbles and dense rocks that are layered with minerals. After harvest, grapes were fermented at low temperatures with light aging on the lees, giving the final wine a silky and lean texture. Green fruit and slight citrus flavors are complemented by salinity and bold white floral aromas. Critics love this just as much as we do! A 90 point score ...

WINE REGION:

Outline of Pays d'Oc IGP

Pays d'Oc IGP

If you've vacationed in the south of France, you've probably visited the Pays d'Oc region. Embracing the Mediterranean from Spain to Provence, this region is famed as much for its Grenache, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay as its endless sunshine. Pays d'Oc covers non-AOC wines made across this large, sun-kissed region, known as France's "New World." Far from the regulations of the AOC system, pioneering winemakers headed here to experiment, crafting many now-famous wines that often state their grape variety on the label—not something that was common in France before then. IGP (Indication Géographique Protégée) within France’s wine classification system focuses on controlling regional and geographical origin. The category is less restrictive than the AOC classification and gives winemakers more freedom with style and taste profile when creating wines.

TASTING NOTES:

White Flowers

Pear

Vanilla

A beautiful vanilla bean note is enhanced by white floral aromas that jump out of the glass. Ripe green pear and lemon-lime flavors complement a hint of salinity that lengthens every sip. Medium-bodied with a lean and fresh palate and a silky texture, this is a perfect wine for even the most skeptic of Chardonnay drinkers.
