Le Temps des Récoltes
Bordeaux AOP, France
Featuring an award-winning, classically Old World blend from the lesser-known Entre-Deux-Mers appellation of Bordeaux
ABOUT THIS WINE:
Le Temps des Récoltes
Bordeaux
The Entre-Deux-Mers region of Bordeaux is perhaps the least well known yet the vastest in size. Situated between the Garonne and Dordogne Rivers, the region sees a temperate climate with maritime influences coming off the nearby waters. Vineyards are densely planted on land with clay and limestone soils. The 2019 harvest was drier than usual and on the warm side, which allowed for grapes to fully ripen despite the somewhat early harvest. This weighty and rich blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot is a beautiful reflection of the bold wines that come out of the region. Fruit-forward and well-balanced, the characteristics of the two varietals meld together harmoniously. Merlot’s classic red fruit flavors are enhanced by the more savory black fruit notes of Cabernet Sauvignon. Softly balanced tannins grip the palate and make every sip linger—a perfect wine for braised or roasted dishes ...

WINE REGION:
Bordeaux AOP
Probably the world's most famous wine region, Bordeaux is a true powerhouse of French quality. While Bordeaux is home to some of the country's most expensive bottles, it is also possible to find great-value wines from small producers. Almost all red and white wines from Bordeaux are blends. Reds tend to be a mix of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. But just as important as the blends are the quality of the region's terroir and unique winemaking techniques. The Bordeaux region is divided by the Gironde River into two main parts. Cabernet Sauvignon reigns supreme on the the Left Bank, while Merlot dominates the Right Bank. White wines are usually a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. The AOP (Appellation d'Origine Protégée) classification for French wine relates to wine being from a specific region that is significantly regulated. The regions are both large and small, each with its own set of rules for permitted varietals, production standards and quality control cues.
