The 2019 vintage of our award-winning Grenache Blanc from La Douleur Exquise in Pays d’Oc was spectacular — it earned the Best of Class title, 90 points, and a Gold Medal. Our newest 2020 vintage is a product of the same time-tested vines, impeccable terroir, and meticulous winemaking practices. The Pays d’Oc region is inland from the coastline in Southwest France and experiences a moderate Mediterranean climate with hot, dry days and cooling coastal influences. These factors allow Grenache Blanc, a somewhat fussy grape primarily known for its role as a blender in the famous Châteauneuf-du-Pape blend, to thrive. When highlighted on its own, this varietal is fresh and bright. For this particular wine, our winemaking partners harvested fruit from low-yielding vines.
