ABOUT THIS WINE:
La Douleur Exquise
Grenache Blanc
Our triple award-winning Grenache Blanc from La Douleur Exquise in Pays d’Oc is truly spectacular. The 2019 vintage received 90 points and a Gold Medal from the 2020 Harvest Challenge, not to mention a Best of Class award from the Dan Berger’s 2020 International Wine & Cider Competition. The Pays d’Oc region is inland from the coastline in Southwest France. WINE REGION:
Pays d'Oc IGP
If you've vacationed in the south of France, you've probably visited the Pays d'Oc region. Embracing the Mediterranean from Spain to Provence, this region is famed as much for its Grenache, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay as its endless sunshine. Pays d'Oc covers non-AOC wines made across this large, sun-kissed region, known as France's "New World." Far from the regulations of the AOC system, pioneering winemakers headed here to experiment, crafting many now-famous wines that often state their grape variety on the label—not something that was common in France before then. IGP (Indication Géographique Protégée) within France’s wine classification system focuses on controlling regional and geographical origin. The category is less restrictive than the AOC classification and gives winemakers more freedom with style and taste profile when creating wines.

TASTING NOTES:
Pear
Lime
White Flowers
Bold white floral aromas of honeysuckle and sweet apple blossom hit the nose immediately. Ripe white peach and Asian pear flavors meld together and are complemented by notes of lime zest. A slight minerality balances out the natural acidity of the wine and makes each sip linger.
