Fess Parker
Santa Barbara County, California
Experience something new when you taste this Viognier from a very talented winemaking family
ABOUT THIS WINE:
Fess Parker
Viognier
Viognier conjures up all kinds of images for wine lovers. Some think of Condrieu and the steep vineyards of southern France, some think of sticky sweet, Australian wines, and others still think of a beautiful perfumed and aromatic white from California. This wine is certainly of the latter category. Viognier is a wine that thrives in relatively warm conditions, so the Santa Rita Hills are the perfect place to find well-ripened but still acidic grapes. The grapes for the Fess Parker Viognier are 100% estate-grown and have been handled with care. The wine is full of honeysuckle, peaches, and vanilla and is more delightful with every sip.
Due to state registrations, we cannot ship this wine to AL, AZ, CO, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, MD, ME, MI, MO, NJ, NV, NY, OH, PA, SD, TX, VT, WA.ABOUT THIS WINE

Santa Barbara County
Just north of Los Angeles at the southern tip of the Central Coast, Santa Barbara County is one of California's winemaking gems. Although a long way from Napa and Sonoma, Santa Barbara's prime AVAs—the Santa Maria and Santa Ynez Valleys and the Santa Rita Hills—produce exemplary cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. It is all thanks to the terroir. Despite its proximity to sunny southern California, Santa Barbara County is hilly, and its vineyards lie close to the Pacific Ocean. With little rainfall but an abundance of chilly ocean winds and fogs, the growing season is very long here. This allows grapes to ripen slowly over an extended period and develop wonderfully complex flavors.

ABOUT THE BRAND:
Fess Parker
When Fess Parker purchased the 714 acre Foxen Canyon Ranch in 1988, his plan was to run cattle, plant a few acres of vineyard, and perhaps establish a small winery someday. His dream was to start a family business that he could pass on to future generations. Dreams do come true. Eli Parker and his sister, Ashley, remain involved as stewards of their father’s vision. The home ranch vineyard, named for Fess’s late son-in-law, Rodney, has earned a great reputation for the quality of its Rhône varietals, while long term contracts with some of the finest vineyards in the Sta. Rita Hills AVA are the fruit source for the winery’s Burgundian offerings.
