Winemaking In crafting this wine, the aim is to create a pure expression of two heritage varieties. After a cool fermentation, varying proportions of Fetească Regală and Albă are tested before an even 50/50 split is determined as the blend’s magic number, capturing Regală’s texture and Albă’s fruit-driven character. Before bottling, French oak adds a nuanced toastiness without overshadowing the grapes’ natural profile, resulting in a wine that is easy to understand but leaves a lasting impression.
Vintage 2022 was one of the warmest years on record in Romania, with the highest temperatures occurring in July and August. Romania's Huși is a small sub-region of the Moldovan Hills, located east of the Carpathian Mountains, bordering Moldova. This quaint but mighty region focuses primarily on the production of crisp, aromatic and high-quality white wines featuring native varietals. These heritage grape varieties have been perfected for centuries through mindful selection and cultivation practices. The most popular white wines usually feature Fetească Regală, Fetească Albă, or Welschriesling. Small plantings of red varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Băbească Neagră, Fetească Neagră and Merlot can also be found.
