Romania's Huși DOC is a small sub-region of the Moldovan Hills, located east of the Carpathian Mountains, bordering Moldova. This quaint but mighty region focuses primarily on the production of crisp, aromatic and high-quality white wines featuring native varietals. These heritage grape varieties have been perfected for centuries through mindful selection and cultivation practices. The most popular white wines usually feature Fetească Regală, Fetească Albă, or Welschriesling. Small plantings of red varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Băbească Neagră, Fetească Neagră and Merlot can also be found.
