Viña Errázuriz & The Chadwick Estates

Viña Errázuriz is the historic heart of the Chadwick family’s wine legacy. Founded in 1870 in Chile’s Aconcagua Valley, it is celebrated for high-quality wines that capture the region's diverse character, from the volcanic slopes to the Pacific coast.

Led by Eduardo Chadwick (President) and Chief Winemaker Tomás Muñoz, the group manages the flagship Errázuriz estate alongside two independent 'Icon' properties: Seña and Viñedo Chadwick. Following a major 2025 brand refresh, the portfolio is recognized globally for proving that Chilean terroir can compete with the finest First Growths of Bordeaux.

Key Estates and Iconic Labels

The Chadwick Errázuriz portfolio is categorized by estate and terroir focus:

  • Viña Errázuriz: The historic Panquehue estate. Its flagship is Don Maximiano Founder’s Reserve. In 2024–2026, the Las Pizarras series (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah) has become a global benchmark for cool-climate coastal wines.
  • Seña: A standalone Aconcagua hillside estate founded as a joint venture with Robert Mondavi. It is Chile's first 'Icon' wine, farmed biodynamically to produce a refined Bordeaux-style blend.
  • Viñedo Chadwick: Located on the historic polo fields of the Maipo Valley, this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon estate is a tribute to Alfonso Chadwick Errázuriz and has earned multiple 100-point scores.

The Berlin Tasting & Global Reputation

The family earned permanent global acclaim during the 2004 Berlin Tasting, a landmark event often compared to the 1976 'Judgment of Paris.'

  • Historical Triumph — In a blind tasting against top Bordeaux (Lafite, Margaux) and Super Tuscans (Sassicaia), Viñedo Chadwick and Seña took the top two places, forever changing the perception of Chilean wine.
  • James Suckling 100-Point Legacy — Viñedo Chadwick 2014 was the first Chilean wine to receive a perfect 100-point score, a standard maintained by subsequent vintages of Seña and Las Pizarras.
  • 2026 Sustainability — By 2026, the entire group has achieved renewed certification under the National Sustainability Code of the Chilean Wine Industry, with Seña leading the way in biodynamic viticulture.
