What is Château La Mission Haut-Brion?
Château La Mission Haut-Brion is a Cru Classé de Graves estate with approximately 25–26 hectares of red vines rooted in deep gravel, plus roughly 3–4 hectares of white vines.
The vineyard's mix is roughly 48% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 7% Cabernet Franc, which shapes its flagship red wine.
The estate also produces La Chapelle de la Mission Haut-Brion, a second wine from younger vines, first released in 1991.
Beginning with the 2009 vintage, the historic Château Laville Haut-Brion white was renamed Château La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc, made from the same vineyards.
Known for combining traditional methods with innovation, the estate introduced glass-lined fermentation vats in 1926, showcasing its precise cellar techniques.
