What is Château Cos d'Estournel?
Founded in 1811 by Louis‑Gaspard d’Estournel, the estate farms about 91 hectares planted mainly to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
The flagship wine is the Grand Vin, Château Cos d’Estournel. Les Pagodes de Cos, introduced in 1994, is the second wine, typically sourced from younger vines and other lots not selected for the Grand Vin. The estate also produces Cos d’Estournel Blanc and G d’Estournel. Since 2000, owner Michel Reybier has invested in vineyard management and cellar modernization while maintaining the estate’s historic identity.
