Petite Petit

2009 Lodi 85% Petite Sirah, 15% Petit Verdot

The Michael David Winery Petite Petit, hailing from the esteemed Lodi region, is a delightful blend primarily composed of Petite Sirah with a touch of Petit Verdot. This full-bodied red wine captivates with its deep purple hue, enticing aromas of dark berries and plums, punctuated by notes of black pepper and dark chocolate. Its acidity is bright and refreshing, providing a lovely lift to the palate. With a robust structure, the tannins offer a firm yet pleasing backbone, perfectly balancing the wine's prominent fruit intensity. As a dry wine, it maintains a clean finish, making it incredibly food-friendly. Whether enjoyed alongside a hearty meal or savored on its own, the 2009 Petite Petit showcases the rich, bold character that Lodi wines are known for.

Region:

Central Valley
Central Valley

Away from the dramatically cooling influence of the Pacific Ocean, Central Valley is California's breadbasket, where much of the country's fruit, vegetables, nuts and grapes are grown. Bathed in sunshine and growing in fertile soils, Central Valley spreads 400 miles from Sacramento to Fresno. Because of its heat, the region produces abundant Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon, which soak up the sun and transform it into dense, deeply colored wine. In the region's cooler AVAs—those that lie around the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta, such as Lodi—higher acid grapes like Chenin Blanc, Colombard, Barbera and Chardonnay grow with great success.
