Aragon

Aragon, located in northeastern Spain, is one of the country's most diverse winegrowing regions. Spanning from the Pyrenees Mountains to the fertile Ebro River Valley, Aragon's vineyards cover a wide array of terroir. The cool, fresh air descending from the Pyrenees plays a major role in moderating Aragon's climate, sending refreshing breezes up to 100 miles southward. This tempers the daytime heat and allows grapes to ripen slowly but fully. Vineyards closer to the mountains thrive with cooler-climate grape varieties, producing elegant and aromatic wines, while further inland, the warmer, sun-drenched valleys yield bigger, bolder reds. This diversity of conditions allows Aragon to produce a wide range of wine styles, each reflecting the unique growing regions of this historic area.
