What is Imagery Estate Winery?
Founded in 1986 by Joe Benziger, Imagery grew from a family project into a dedicated home for expressive, experimental wines. The cellar is led by winemaker Jamie Benziger, who took the helm in 2017 and earned Woman Winemaker of the Year in 2019 at the International Womens Wine Competition.
The winemaking approach favors character‑driven vineyards and a mix of lesser‑known grapes such as Malbec, Tempranillo, and Lagrein, balanced with Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Sauvignon Blanc. Many bottlings are made in small lots and are available primarily in the tasting room or through the wine club.
Every label features commissioned artwork and a hidden Parthenon icon. The collection now encompasses more than 700 original pieces, with the historic archive housed at Sonoma State University and rotating selections displayed at the winery.
