What is Château Montrose?
Château Montrose is a producer defined by meticulous grape selection and a complete range that includes the Grand Vin, La Dame de Montrose (second wine), and Tertio de Montrose (third red wine from younger vines).
Its vineyards span about 95 hectares on gravelly elevations beside the Gironde estuary, a site that shapes a deep, mineral character.
Only around 35–40% of harvested grapes are chosen for the Grand Vin. That wine is matured roughly 18 months in French oak, with about 60% new barrels each year.
La Dame de Montrose is crafted from younger vines or lots not selected for the Grand Vin, offering an earlier-drinking reflection of the estate’s style.
