What is Château Lynch-Bages?

Château Lynch-Bages is a Bordeaux wine estate with an approximately 100-hectare Left Bank vineyard, mostly planted to red varieties—chiefly Cabernet Sauvignon, along with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot—with a few hectares of white varieties (Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, and Muscadelle) for its white wine. Its flagship red wine is known for blackcurrant character, firm structure, and the ability to gain nuance over time.

The estate also bottles Echo de Lynch-Bages, a second wine made from younger vines or lots not selected for the top wine. Since 1990, the team has produced Blanc de Lynch-Bages, a dry white Bordeaux created after planting white varieties on part of the property. The name combines Thomas Lynch, an 18th-century proprietor, with the nearby hamlet of Bages, reflecting the estate’s roots in the region.
