What is Beringer Vineyards?
Beringer estate and named-tier wines are produced at the St. Helena winery in Napa Valley, using fruit from Napa Valley, Knights Valley in Sonoma County, and other California regions. Treasury Wine Estates retains these estate and premium tiers.
Introductory-tier labels such as Main & Vine and Founders' Estate are produced and managed in the United States by The Wine Group under license; those wines are produced at The Wine Group facilities rather than at the St. Helena estate.
Core varieties include Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, and White Zinfandel.
Wines and tiers:
- Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay — flagship Napa bottlings intended for cellaring, typically sourced from top estate and grower vineyards.
- Single-vineyard wines — limited releases that highlight individual sites in Napa Valley and Knights Valley.
- Napa Valley tier — appellation wines that blend across Napa vineyards for a regional expression.
- Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and other bottlings — Sonoma County fruit with a cooler-climate profile.
- White Zinfandel (Main & Vine) — an off-dry rosé style that helped popularize the category in the United States.
- Entry lines under license to The Wine Group — Main & Vine and Founders' Estate, positioned for everyday drinking.
