White Wine

2005 Salento Chardonnay

Cantina Sociale Brancasi White Wine is a captivating expression of Chardonnay from the sun-drenched Salento region, celebrated for its vibrant and expressive whites. This vintage 2005 showcases a beautiful pale golden hue that glimmers in the glass. The wine presents a medium-bodied profile, balanced with a refreshing acidity that lends a bright and lively character, making it incredibly food-friendly. Aromas of ripe stone fruit mingle harmoniously with subtle notes of vanilla and flint, offering a delightful complexity. Conclusively, this Chardonnay is dry, with a pleasing fruit intensity that lingers on the palate, making it a perfect companion for seafood dishes or simply enjoying on its own. A true testament to the quality of wines emerging from Salento, it resonates with both elegance and approachability, inviting wine lovers to indulge in its charm.

Region:

Puglia
Puglia

The heel of Italy's "boot," sunny Puglia (the "g" is silent), is famed for its olive oils, almonds and of course, its rich, full-bodied wines. Although dry and intensely hot in the summer, Puglia has coastlines on three sides, providing cool Mediterranean breezes to alleviate the daytime heat. Primitivo (known in the US as Zinfandel) does well here, with other popular red varieties including Sangiovese and Negroamaro. But it is not all about reds in Puglia: the local Fiano grape produces gloriously nutty, tropical-flavored white, while Falanghina makes intensely fruity wines with citrus blossom notes.
