Viognier

2023 Lodi Viognier

The Rancho De Philo Winery Viognier is a delightful expression of the Lodi region, showcasing the vibrant characteristics that make this varietal so beloved. With a gorgeous pale yellow hue, this white wine captivates the senses before you even take a sip. The body strikes a harmonious balance, offering a medium frame that feels both inviting and refreshing. Its acidity is pronounced and bright, providing a mouthwatering quality that enhances the fruit profile. The fruit intensity bursts with layers of stone fruit, particularly apricot and peach, mingling with subtle floral notes that evoke a sense of springtime. This Viognier is bone dry, allowing the flavors to shine without any cloying sweetness. Its smooth texture and soft finish create a delightful drinking experience, making it a perfect accompaniment to a variety of dishes or an enjoyable sip on its own.

Region:

Central Valley
Central Valley

Away from the dramatically cooling influence of the Pacific Ocean, Central Valley is California's breadbasket, where much of the country's fruit, vegetables, nuts and grapes are grown. Bathed in sunshine and growing in fertile soils, Central Valley spreads 400 miles from Sacramento to Fresno. Because of its heat, the region produces abundant Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon, which soak up the sun and transform it into dense, deeply colored wine. In the region's cooler AVAs—those that lie around the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta, such as Lodi—higher acid grapes like Chenin Blanc, Colombard, Barbera and Chardonnay grow with great success.
