First planted in the early 19th century, the Hunter Valley initially carved out its reputation with top-quality Chardonnay. But it was the white Bordeaux variety Sémillon that put the area on the international wine map. This brings out extraordinary levels of ripeness in the Sémillon grape while keeping alcohol levels moderate.
