Valdiguié

2022 Redwood Valley Valdiguié

Martha Stoumen Valdiguié from the 2022 vintage showcases the delightful characteristics of this lesser-known varietal. Hailing from the picturesque Redwood Valley, this red wine presents a gentle and medium-bodied profile, making it incredibly approachable. The acidity is bright yet balanced, adding a refreshing vibrancy that invigorates the palate. Fruit intensity shines through with charming notes of juicy blackberries and strawberries, offering a luscious fruit-forward experience. Tannins are soft and well-integrated, contributing to a smooth mouthfeel that enhances the overall enjoyment. This Valdiguié is dry, allowing the wine's fruit character to take center stage, making it an excellent companion for a variety of dishes or simply to enjoy on its own.

Region:

North Coast
North Coast

The North Coast AVA is a vast "super region" covering three million acres of prime land north of San Francisco. It encompasses the famous wine counties of Napa, Sonoma and Mendocino, as well as Lake, Marin and Solano. While most wines from these counties are made under one of the prestigious regional AVAs, winemakers can also blend grapes from different counties. In this way, they create wines that show off the quality of the entire region and are not limited to specific terroirs. Common varieties include Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Zinfandel.
