Region:

Breedekloof

Breedekloof sits in the western portion of the Breede River Valley region, about 50 miles northeast of Cape Town. Surrounded by mountain ranges, Breedekloof's complex topography and rich array of soil types make it perfect for white wine production. With the Atlantic Ocean not far to the west and the Karoo desert to the east, the sheltered climate here is characterized by sunny days and cold nights. Here Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc grapes ripen with great structure and acidity. Pinotage and Syrah also perform well in Breedekloof, developing fine, Rhône-like aromatics as they ripen.
