Subduction White

2008 Columbia Valley 42% Chardonnay, 30% Roussanne, 28% Viognier

Syncline Wine Cellars Subduction White is a delightful expression from the scenic Columbia Valley, where the unique terroir enhances the grapes' character. This wine masterfully blends Chardonnay, Roussanne, and Viognier, resulting in a medium-bodied white that is both vibrant and refreshing. It displays a bright acidity that dances on the palate, creating an invigorating mouthwatering experience. The fruit intensity is notably prominent, showcasing luscious notes of peach, pear, and tropical fruit that are beautifully balanced by the floral hints of Viognier. This wine is bone dry, making it an excellent choice for food pairings, and its subtle creaminess adds depth without overpowering the refreshing qualities. Ideal for warm gatherings, Syncline's Subduction White is a captivating choice for wine enthusiasts seeking both complexity and approachability.

Columbia Valley

Sheltered by the rain shadow of the Cascade Mountains, Columbia Valley is home to the majority of Washington's vineyards. Cool nights keep zippy acidity in the grapes, while long daylight hours give the fruit plenty of chance to ripen. This results in full-bodied Merlot, elegant Cabernet Sauvignon and deeply concentrated Syrah. White wines are just as tantalizing, with toasty oak-touched Chardonnay and ripe stone fruit-flavored Riesling taking the spotlight. Sub-AVAs to look out for are Yakima Valley and Walla Walla. The Columbia Valley is one of the only appellations in the United States to occupy vineyards in two states, as it crosses the Oregon border in the southern part of the valley.
