Region:

Los Carneros

Carneros straddles the southern border of two of the state's finest winegrowing regions—Napa and Sonoma—down to the north shore of San Pablo Bay. This is a premium cool-climate winemaking area, where Chardonnay and Pinot Noir reign, producing delicate still and sparkling wines. Carneros Pinot Noir is famed for its berry and herb profile, while its Chardonnay is crisply acidic with fresh stone fruit flavors. The vines grow on low, rolling hills of shallow soils. They are frequently blanketed by coastal fog in the morning, then cooled by Pacific Ocean breezes in the afternoon. This creates a long growing season that yields deliciously fresh and elegant wines.
