Spatlese

2009 Burgenland Cabernet Sauvignon

Schlossadler Inc Spatlese, a delightful Cabernet Sauvignon from the esteemed Burgenland region, showcases the beauty of a well-aged red wine. This 2009 vintage reveals a medium-bodied structure, which gracefully balances richness and elegance. The acidity is vibrant and refreshing, providing a lively sensation that dances on the palate. Fruit intensity is prominent with luscious dark berry notes, combined with hints of plum and cassis that develop complexity over time. The tannins are notable yet smooth, contributing to the wine's depth without overwhelming the overall experience. This Spatlese is dry, making it a perfect companion for a variety of dishes or simply to be savored on its own, reflecting the true essence of its terroir.

Austria

Austria may not be the first country that springs to mind when you think of quality wine, but this slice of central Europe is home to crisp whites and elegant reds that are well worth seeking out. While many classic grapes are grown here, there are exceptional wines made from varieties you rarely see anywhere else, such as white Grüner Veltliner. Spicy and herbaceous, this wine combines notes of white pepper and asparagus with flint and apple. As for reds, the most planted is Zweigelt. This grape is a hybrid of two other local varietals: the spicy Blaufränkisch and light St. Laurent. It combines the best of both worlds with flavors of chocolate, black pepper and fresh raspberry.
