Or head down to the sun-kissed Aegean islands for spellbinding Assyrtiko, with flavors ranging from passionfruit and mineral to oak and pineapple. For red wine lovers, southern Greece grows the herbaceous Agiorgitiko, while the sublime Xinomavro of the north—often referred to as "Greece's Barolo"—offers dark cherry and licorice notes.
