Colchagua Valley

Dubbed "Chile's red wine paradise" by Vogue magazine, Colchagua Valley is undoubtedly one of South America's finest wine regions. Indeed, many of Chile's best reds come from this dry, ocean breeze-cooled section of the Central Valley. Expect inky-dark reds made from Carménère, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Merlot. These wines burst with flavors of ripe berries and earthy tobacco, with a nice acidic balance thanks to the valley's cool nights. Don't underestimate the white wines, either, as Colchuaga's breezy coast is home to some memorable Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.
