Schiaccianoci

Salento Negroamaro 85%, Malvasia Nera 15%

Vigne Vini Schiaccianoci is a captivating red wine hailing from the picturesque Salento region, where the sun-soaked vineyards contribute to its remarkable character. This blend predominantly showcases the robust Negroamaro grape, complemented by a touch of Malvasia Nera, resulting in a full-bodied and fruit-forward profile. The wine exudes vibrant aromas of dark cherries, blackberries, and hints of spice, inviting you to explore its complexities. With a well-structured presence, it features notable tannins that create a firm yet velvety mouthfeel, balanced by a bright acidity that offers a refreshing lift. The wine is dry, allowing the richness of its fruit to shine through while making it a delightful companion to a variety of hearty dishes, embodying the essence of the Salento terroir.

Region:

Puglia
Puglia

The heel of Italy's "boot," sunny Puglia (the "g" is silent), is famed for its olive oils, almonds and of course, its rich, full-bodied wines. Although dry and intensely hot in the summer, Puglia has coastlines on three sides, providing cool Mediterranean breezes to alleviate the daytime heat. Primitivo (known in the US as Zinfandel) does well here, with other popular red varieties including Sangiovese and Negroamaro. But it is not all about reds in Puglia: the local Fiano grape produces gloriously nutty, tropical-flavored white, while Falanghina makes intensely fruity wines with citrus blossom notes.
