Rosso

2007 Puglia Negroamaro

Pampana Rosso, a captivating 2007 vintage from the sun-kissed region of Puglia, showcases the bold character of the Negroamaro varietal. This red wine presents a medium-bodied profile, striking a beautiful balance between richness and approachability. Its acidity is vibrant and provides a delightful freshness that lifts the wine, making it incredibly food-friendly. The fruit intensity is pronounced, with luscious notes of dark cherries and ripe plums leading the charge. Tannins are well-structured yet soft, allowing for a smooth and inviting mouthfeel. With its dry nature, Pampana Rosso proves to be an excellent choice for both casual gatherings and more refined dining experiences, truly embodying the spirit of southern Italy.

Puglia
Puglia

The heel of Italy's "boot," sunny Puglia (the "g" is silent), is famed for its olive oils, almonds and of course, its rich, full-bodied wines. Although dry and intensely hot in the summer, Puglia has coastlines on three sides, providing cool Mediterranean breezes to alleviate the daytime heat. Primitivo (known in the US as Zinfandel) does well here, with other popular red varieties including Sangiovese and Negroamaro. But it is not all about reds in Puglia: the local Fiano grape produces gloriously nutty, tropical-flavored white, while Falanghina makes intensely fruity wines with citrus blossom notes.
