Rosato

2006 Salice Salentino Negroamaro

The Villa Mottura Rosato, a delightful expression of Negroamaro from the renowned Salice Salentino region, showcases a stunning red hue that entices the eye. This vintage from 2006 offers a medium body that perfectly balances its characteristics. The wine presents a high level of acidity, providing a bright and refreshing mouthfeel that invigorates the palate. With fruit intensity that is pronounced, expect enticing flavors of ripe red berries and a hint of floral notes, which create an inviting aroma. The tannins are notably firm, adding structure without overshadowing the wine's vibrant fruit profile. Overall, the Villa Mottura Rosato is a dry wine, making it an excellent choice for pairing with a variety of dishes or enjoying on its own.

Region:

Puglia
Puglia

The heel of Italy's "boot," sunny Puglia (the "g" is silent), is famed for its olive oils, almonds and of course, its rich, full-bodied wines. Although dry and intensely hot in the summer, Puglia has coastlines on three sides, providing cool Mediterranean breezes to alleviate the daytime heat. Primitivo (known in the US as Zinfandel) does well here, with other popular red varieties including Sangiovese and Negroamaro. But it is not all about reds in Puglia: the local Fiano grape produces gloriously nutty, tropical-flavored white, while Falanghina makes intensely fruity wines with citrus blossom notes.
