Primitivo Rosso Puglia

Puglia Zinfandel

Massimo Leone Primitivo Rosso Puglia is a captivating expression of Zinfandel from the sun-soaked region of Puglia, Italy. This red wine exhibits a rich and full-bodied character, making it immensely satisfying on the palate. With a medium acidity, it strikes a harmonious balance that enhances its overall appeal, offering a delightful mouthwatering freshness. The fruit intensity is prominent, showcasing luscious notes of blackberry, plum, and a hint of spice, which elevate the wine's complexity. The tannins are notably structured, providing a firm backbone that supports the wine's bold flavors without overwhelming them. Puglia
Puglia

The heel of Italy's "boot," sunny Puglia (the "g" is silent), is famed for its olive oils, almonds and of course, its rich, full-bodied wines. Although dry and intensely hot in the summer, Puglia has coastlines on three sides, providing cool Mediterranean breezes to alleviate the daytime heat. Primitivo (known in the US as Zinfandel) does well here, with other popular red varieties including Sangiovese and Negroamaro. But it is not all about reds in Puglia: the local Fiano grape produces gloriously nutty, tropical-flavored white, while Falanghina makes intensely fruity wines with citrus blossom notes.
