Tasting notes:

"There's an Afrikaans term, fynbos, that describes the unique vegetation that grows on the Cape of South Africa. There's a touch of fynbos on this pleasant Chenin Blanc that supports the citrus fruit and adds depth. Very interesting wine!" – Rich Cook, 2021 Monterey Int'l Wine Competition.

Swartland is one of South Africa's largest wine regions, famed for its mouthwatering Chenin Blancs, fragrant Syrahs and punchy Pinotage. Forty miles north of Cape Town, Swartland covers a large area from the Atlantic Ocean to the sun-kissed plains of Piketberg. The region has a hot, dry climate away from the cooling ocean, with ancient shale and granite-based soils. This forces the vines to work hard, producing small but concentrated grapes.
