Portulano

Salento Negroamaro

The Rosa Del Golfo Portulano is a rich and full-bodied red wine crafted from the Negroamaro grape variety in the Salento region. With a deep red color that hints at its intense flavors, this wine offers a velvety smooth texture and a captivating aroma. The fruit intensity is prominent, with luscious notes of dark berries and a touch of spiciness that adds complexity to each sip. The acidity is refreshing, perfectly balancing the ripe fruit flavors, while the well-integrated tannins provide structure and depth. This wine is a perfect example of the bold and robust character that Salento wines are known for, making it a delightful choice for those who appreciate full-bodied reds.

Puglia
Puglia

The heel of Italy's "boot," sunny Puglia (the "g" is silent), is famed for its olive oils, almonds and of course, its rich, full-bodied wines. Although dry and intensely hot in the summer, Puglia has coastlines on three sides, providing cool Mediterranean breezes to alleviate the daytime heat. Primitivo (known in the US as Zinfandel) does well here, with other popular red varieties including Sangiovese and Negroamaro. But it is not all about reds in Puglia: the local Fiano grape produces gloriously nutty, tropical-flavored white, while Falanghina makes intensely fruity wines with citrus blossom notes.
