Passo Del Sud Edizione

Puglia Red Blend

The Tagaro Passo Del Sud Edizione is a captivating red blend hailing from the sun-soaked region of Puglia, Italy. This wine showcases a rich, deep red color that invites exploration. On the palate, it presents a medium-bodied structure with a harmonious balance of bright acidity that enhances its overall vibrancy. The fruit intensity is prominent, revealing luscious notes of dark cherries and ripe plums, complemented by subtle hints of spice and earthiness that add depth to the experience. The tannins are well-integrated, providing a firm backbone without overshadowing the wine's fruity character. This red blend is dry, making it an excellent companion for a variety of dishes, from hearty pastas to grilled meats, and showcases the terroir of Puglia beautifully.

Puglia

The heel of Italy's "boot," sunny Puglia (the "g" is silent), is famed for its olive oils, almonds and of course, its rich, full-bodied wines. Although dry and intensely hot in the summer, Puglia has coastlines on three sides, providing cool Mediterranean breezes to alleviate the daytime heat. Primitivo (known in the US as Zinfandel) does well here, with other popular red varieties including Sangiovese and Negroamaro. But it is not all about reds in Puglia: the local Fiano grape produces gloriously nutty, tropical-flavored white, while Falanghina makes intensely fruity wines with citrus blossom notes.
