Pajaru

Puglia Primitivo

Picuraru Pajaru is a delightful representation of Puglia's rich and vibrant wine heritage, showcasing the bold and expressive characteristics of Primitivo. This enticing red wine presents a medium-bodied profile, exhibiting a luscious mouthfeel that is both comforting and inviting. The acidity is bright and lively, enhancing the overall freshness and balance of the wine. Flavors of dark fruits like black cherry and plum dominate the palate, harmoniously complemented by subtle notes of spice and earthiness. The tannins are smooth and well-integrated, providing a gentle structure without overwhelming the fruit-forward character. With a satisfying dry finish, Picuraru Pajaru is perfect for pairing with hearty dishes or enjoying on its own during a cozy gathering with friends.

Puglia

The heel of Italy's "boot," sunny Puglia (the "g" is silent), is famed for its olive oils, almonds and of course, its rich, full-bodied wines. Although dry and intensely hot in the summer, Puglia has coastlines on three sides, providing cool Mediterranean breezes to alleviate the daytime heat. Primitivo (known in the US as Zinfandel) does well here, with other popular red varieties including Sangiovese and Negroamaro. But it is not all about reds in Puglia: the local Fiano grape produces gloriously nutty, tropical-flavored white, while Falanghina makes intensely fruity wines with citrus blossom notes.
