Norie

2008 Salento Negroamaro

Vigneti Reale Norie is an exquisite expression of the Negroamaro varietal hailing from the picturesque Salento region. This red wine showcases a deep garnet hue, inviting you to explore its rich character. On the palate, it reveals a full-bodied profile complemented by high acidity that adds a refreshing lift. The wine's fruit intensity is pronounced, featuring delightful notes of ripe black cherries, dark plums, and hints of blackberry, perfectly balanced with earthy undertones. The tannins are notable yet smooth, offering a structured finish that lingers beautifully. As a dry wine, Vigneti Reale Norie pairs wonderfully with hearty dishes, making it an ideal choice for gatherings around the table.

Region:

Puglia
Puglia

The heel of Italy's "boot," sunny Puglia (the "g" is silent), is famed for its olive oils, almonds and of course, its rich, full-bodied wines. Although dry and intensely hot in the summer, Puglia has coastlines on three sides, providing cool Mediterranean breezes to alleviate the daytime heat. Primitivo (known in the US as Zinfandel) does well here, with other popular red varieties including Sangiovese and Negroamaro. But it is not all about reds in Puglia: the local Fiano grape produces gloriously nutty, tropical-flavored white, while Falanghina makes intensely fruity wines with citrus blossom notes.
