N°Zero

2008 Salento Negroamaro

Vini Menhir N°Zero, a stunning red wine from the Salento region, showcases the expressive characteristics of the Negroamaro varietal. With its deep ruby hue, this 2008 vintage captivates the senses immediately. On the palate, it presents a medium-bodied experience, balanced with a lively acidity that invigorates the taste buds. The fruit intensity is pronounced, unveiling luscious notes of dark cherry and ripe blackberry, complemented by subtle undertones of baking spices. The tannins are notably firm, providing structure and depth, while the wine finishes with a dry edge that leaves a refreshing aftertaste. Perfect for pairing with hearty dishes, Vini Menhir N°Zero is a delightful exploration of Southern Italy’s winemaking artistry.

Region:

Puglia
Puglia

The heel of Italy's "boot," sunny Puglia (the "g" is silent), is famed for its olive oils, almonds and of course, its rich, full-bodied wines. Although dry and intensely hot in the summer, Puglia has coastlines on three sides, providing cool Mediterranean breezes to alleviate the daytime heat. Primitivo (known in the US as Zinfandel) does well here, with other popular red varieties including Sangiovese and Negroamaro. But it is not all about reds in Puglia: the local Fiano grape produces gloriously nutty, tropical-flavored white, while Falanghina makes intensely fruity wines with citrus blossom notes.
