Region:

Delle Venezie

Part of the larger Tre Venezie IGT area, delle Venezie offers high quality and more regional character through tighter production rules. The region covers the Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Trentino areas—a large swathe of northeastern Italy lying between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea. Fresh mountain breezes and cool sea air help temper the sunshine here and maintain fresh acidity in the wines, while day-night temperature variation brings aromatic intensity. As well as Pinot Grigio (which accounts for seven out of every ten bottles made), Pinot Noir does well too. Also look out for sparkling Pinot Grigio Spumante and Frizzante.
