2008 Delle Venezie Merlot

The Az. Agr. Mosolo Gleni Merlot from the Delle Venezie region is a delightful expression of this classic varietal, showcasing a deep, inviting red color that hints at its rich flavors. This vintage, crafted in 2008, offers a medium body that is both approachable and satisfying, making it perfect for a variety of occasions. With balanced acidity, it delivers a refreshing lift that enhances the wine's fruit-forward character. The palate is enveloped in prominent notes of black cherry and plum, highlighted by subtle undertones of cocoa and spice. The tannins are soft and well-integrated, providing structure without overwhelming the fruit, making this wine a friendly companion for roasted meats or hearty pasta dishes. A lovely dry finish rounds out the experience, ensuring a pleasurable sip.

Region:

Delle Venezie

Part of the larger Tre Venezie IGT area, delle Venezie offers high quality and more regional character through tighter production rules. The region covers the Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Trentino areas—a large swathe of northeastern Italy lying between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea. Fresh mountain breezes and cool sea air help temper the sunshine here and maintain fresh acidity in the wines, while day-night temperature variation brings aromatic intensity. As well as Pinot Grigio (which accounts for seven out of every ten bottles made), Pinot Noir does well too. Also look out for sparkling Pinot Grigio Spumante and Frizzante.
